How it works
Resender runs on the Android phone that holds the SIM. Each new SMS goes down your list of rules, and the first rule that matches decides where it goes. The last row — Forward everything, or Forward the rest once you have added rules — takes whatever no rule took; a new install starts with it on. The email goes out through your own mailbox, straight from the phone: no sign-up, no server of ours.
A rule checks the sender or the message text — equals or contains, ignoring upper and lower case — and sends to all recipients, to the ones you select, or to none. Do not forward keeps a sender out of your inbox. With every rule off nothing is forwarded, and the main screen says so in red: Nothing is being forwarded.
If a delivery fails, Resender retries for 24 hours. The Sending journal, behind the icon at the top of the main screen, shows each SMS and what happened to it; a red badge on that icon counts the SMS that need a look.
What Android asks
Permission to receive SMS. Android names the whole SMS permission group, so the dialog says “send and view SMS messages” — Resender never sends SMS and does not read old ones, only new incoming ones. It may also ask to show notifications: the small always-on notice and delivery alerts. On a dual-SIM phone, when you first pick a SIM in a rule, Android asks about “make and manage phone calls”: Resender only reads the carrier names of the SIMs with it, and refusing costs nothing but the SIM choice.
Tapped Don't allow by mistake? Open Resender again and tap Open settings, or go to Settings → Apps → Resender → Permissions → SMS.
Battery and manufacturer settings
Android and the phone's manufacturer stop background apps to save battery, and on some phones that delays forwarding or stops it. Two things to set once: take Resender off battery optimisation — the app has a button that opens the list — and allow it in the manufacturer's own auto-start and background settings.
Step-by-step paths for Xiaomi, Huawei and Honor, Samsung, Oppo, realme, OnePlus, vivo and others are on the home page, under Make Android let it run. Read its honest note too: no app can see or change the manufacturer's screens, so only you can set them.
Free and Pro
Free has every feature and forwards up to 3 SMS a day; an SMS over the limit waits in the journal instead of being sent. Pro removes the limit: a monthly or yearly subscription on Google Play, priced for your country — the store shows the price. The first 7 days after the first launch are Pro at no charge, no card needed. Buying Pro sends the SMS held in the last 24 hours. More on the Resender Pro page.
Write to the developer
In the app: Settings → Write to the developer. Describe what happened and, if it helps, add screenshots from your gallery. Resender sends it to support@resender.me through your own mailbox, with a technical report: the device, the app's state, your mail server's host name and your address with the name masked (***@domain) — no phone numbers, SMS texts or passwords. Nothing goes until you press Send. If no mailbox is set up yet, your mail app opens with the email ready instead.
Cancel Pro
Pro is a Google Play subscription, so it is cancelled in Google Play: open the Play Store app → your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Resender → Cancel subscription. Pro stays until the end of the paid period; then only the daily limit returns, and your rules stay as they are. Uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription.
Contact
Write to support@resender.me — a person reads it. Say which phone you have and what you expected to happen, or send a problem report from the app: it carries the technical details for you.
