SMS from a parent's or a child's phone in your inbox
A parent who never notices the clinic's reminder, a child with a first phone, a relative whose appointments you manage: with Resender on their Android phone, the messages they agree to share reach your email — and everything else stays theirs.
Set it up together
- Install Resender on their phone, with them. The app is visible like any other, with its own icon, its rules on the main screen and a journal of what it sent. There is no hidden mode and there never will be.
- Sign in to a mailbox — theirs or yours. The sending mailbox and the recipients are separate: the SMS can go out through your Gmail and arrive in your inbox, or through theirs and arrive in both.
- Switch Forward the rest off and add rules for the senders that matter — the clinic, the school, the pharmacy, the insurer — each with you as the recipient. A rule checks the sender's number or name, or a word in the text, and only those messages are forwarded.
- Make Android let it run — battery optimisation off, and the manufacturer's switches from the battery guides for a Xiaomi, Samsung or Huawei phone.
What stays private
Every SMS that matches no rule stays on their phone and nowhere else; with Forward the rest off, that is everything you did not name. The person can open the app, see each rule and switch it off. Resender has no server and no account: the only copies are the emails in the recipients' inboxes.
Also useful for
- A second phone of your own — the SIM you keep for a region, a service, an old number.
- A phone that stays at home while you travel, so the family's messages follow you.
- A shared household number on one phone, read by two people.

Questions
Is this allowed?
Set it up with the person whose phone it is, with their knowledge and agreement — the app is on their phone, visible, with its own icon and settings, and they can switch any rule off at any time. Resender is a tool for helping someone with their messages, not for reading a phone behind someone's back.
Can I forward only some senders?
Yes, and for a family phone that is the right way: a rule per sender — the clinic, the school, the pharmacy — with you as the recipient, and Forward the rest switched off. Everything else stays on their phone.
Does the person still see the SMS on their phone?
Yes. Resender forwards a copy by email; the SMS stays in the phone's messaging app as before. Nothing is deleted or hidden.
What does the phone need?
Android 8 or later, a connection (mobile data or Wi-Fi) and the battery settings from the guides for its brand, so the forwarding does not stop when the phone sits in a bag for a week.
What about chat messages, WhatsApp or calls?
Not forwarded. Resender handles SMS only, and sends to email only.
